ENDCREDITS
Privacy and data
EndCredits is a personal notebook for the games you finish, with a
social side so you can share it with friends. One person runs it, there is no
company behind it, and there are no ads, no trackers, and nothing is sold or
handed to anyone.
What is stored
Because you type it
- Your account: email address, an alias and your password (stored as a
hash; nobody, me included, can read it).
- Optional: profile picture, your two colours, and your PSN, Xbox,
Nintendo, Steam, Epic or Discord tags if you fill them in.
- Your games: title, dates, hours, platform, score, personal notes and
the platinum, 100%, replayed, playing and early access marks.
- Your lists and the games you put in them.
- The social bits: who you follow, your reactions, your comments and
your private messages.
Because it is needed to work
- Sessions: a cookie on the web and a session token in the app, with the
device name, so you can log out wherever you like.
- Security: failed sign-in attempts are recorded (email and IP address)
to stop password guessing. They clear themselves shortly after.
- Service: an hourly count of how many requests each route got and how
they went. Numbers only, not tied to anyone.
No advertising or analytics cookies. No Google Analytics or anything like it.
Who it is shared with
Only what is needed to keep it running, and only the bare minimum:
- Vercel (hosting) and Turso (database), where the service lives.
- Resend, to send you the verification or password reset email. It gets
your email address.
- IGDB / Twitch and Steam, when you search for a game or import
your library: they get what you searched for or your public Steam ID, never
your email or your password.
Who can see your stuff
- Your shelf and your profile are visible to other players with an account.
- Each list decides for itself: only you, your friends, or anyone with the
link. You can change the link whenever you want and the old one stops working.
- Your private messages are only seen by the person you are talking to.
- Your email address is never shown to anyone.
Deleting your account
You can delete it yourself, whenever you want, without asking anyone:
- In the app: tap your picture at the top right → Delete my account.
- On the web: Account tab → Delete my account.
Everything goes immediately and for good: your games, your lists, your
picture, your messages, your comments and your reactions, including the ones you
left on other people's posts. No copy is kept, other than whatever is still in the
rolling backups, which are gone within 30 days.
If you cannot get into your account, write to
hola@endcredits.app from the address you signed up
with and I will delete it for you.
How long it is kept
- For as long as your account is open.
- Accounts that never confirm their email are deleted automatically after 30 days.
- When you delete your account, everything of yours goes with it.
Your rights
You can ask for access to your data, to correct it, to take it with you or to
delete it by writing to hola@endcredits.app. Nearly
all of it you can do yourself from the app or the web; for the rest, I answer.
Children
The service is not aimed at children under 14 and nothing is knowingly asked of
or stored about them.
Changes
If any of this changes, this page is updated and the date below changes.
